Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Provides Update on Freddie Freeman Leg Injury

The Los Angeles Dodgers went down 0-2 in the NLDS on Monday night in very disappointing fashion, as the offense mustered just two runs and went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

They had missed opportunities with runners on in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th innings, and ultimately lost the game because of it.

One of those missed opportunities came when Freddie Freeman grounded into a double play in the 7th inning with Mookie Betts on first base. Freeman fouled a ball off his knee and was in immediate pain, but stayed in the game and finished the at-bat. Unfortunately, he hit a ground ball, and obviously didn’t have the speed to run to first with the bad knee.

After the game, though, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on Freeman, and it’s about the only good news that came out of the game for LA.

“Freddie’s fine,” Roberts said. “I don’t think he’ll say anything otherwise. It was a good one where it got him, but he’ll be ready to go.”

Both Freeman and Betts have been abysmal this series, going a combined 1-for-13 in the first two games. If the Dodgers want any chance at mounting a comeback, it’ll be up to their top two hitters to set the tone.

The good news is Freeman will be in the lineup on Wednesday in the must-win game.
