Kansas State was one of the biggest surprises in all of NCAA Basketball a year ago, going from a preseason bottom team in the Big 12 to the Elite 8. Markquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson were the stars of the team and got most of the attention but there was another double-digit scorer on that roster in Nae’Qwan Tomlin, whose impact was underrated.

Tomlin, who spent his first three years at the JUCO level, Chipola College for the last two. At Kansas State last season, the 6’10 forward started all 36 games, averaging 10.4 ppg and 5.9 rpg on 50% shooting from the field. He was in double figures for all five postseason games, including 14 pts and 6 rebs in the Elite 8 loss to Florida Atlantic.

The hope was that Tomlim would be a big part of the Wildcats’ 2023-24 campaign but he ended up never playing a game for them. He was indefinitely suspended due to an off-the-court arrest and he and the program ended up parting ways.

As a 5th-year senior, Tomlin has the chance to enter the portal and be eligible to play for the next semester, starting in January. That’s if he’s a graduate transfer. Reportedly, several teams are interested in his services for half a year, as he’s an impact player when on the court.

There could be multiple hurdles in play that result in Tomlin deciding to forego his college career and move on. But in case he stays around in NCAA Basketball, here’s a list of 12 programs that could use him for the rest of the season.
