He’s Been Falsely Accused”: Gervonta Davis’ Coach Calvin Ford Arrested for

Team Gervonta Davis hasn’t been having the greatest of times. After ‘Tank’s’ 44-day stint in Baltimore jail, his coach, Calvin Ford, has now landed himself in hot waters with the authorities.  However, their team member, Kenny Ellis, has maintained Ford’s innocence in a recent interview while pushing back against the allegations.

Calvin Ford and Kenny Ellis, who form the dynamic coaching duo, are responsible for Gervonta Davis’ training. Currently, Davis, who is already on probation, faces restrictions on his movements imposed by the authorities. During an interview with ‘Fannon International Boxing Channel’, Ellis shed light on the entire situation, going into detail about the charges against Ford and the location of Ford’s arrest.

Coach Kenny Ellis questions why he wasn’t arrested

During the interview, the host brought up the shocking news about Ford, questioning Ellis if Ford was picked up by the cops or if he turned himself over to them. Ellis quickly answered while defending Ford. “They picked him up, you know. They picked him up on some false accusations that somebody accused him of doing,” replied Ellis. When pressed about the charges by the host, Ellis revealed Ford was being charged with assault with a deadly weapon by two people. 

While defending Ford, Ellis emphasized that they were always together, and if Ford was guilty, why wasn’t Ellis arrested as well? “It was assault with a deadly weapon from two people, and the question is if that happened and I was with Calvin, why am I not locked up,” declared Ellis. He finished by saying, “[I] want to let the people know that he’s been falsely accused, and the truth will rise to the top.”

Sources suggest that Coach Calvin was arrested in Baltimore and then later transferred to Las Vegas to face the alleged charges. Interestingly, Davis’ initial home arrest following his sentencing also involved Ford.

Gervonta Davis’ 44-day jail stint

On 14 July last year, Davis was released from his 44 days sentence in a Baltimore jail. However, originally, he wasn’t supposed to serve any jail time in regards to pleading guilty for the November 2022 crash. Instead, he was ordered by the judge in charge to spend 90 days under house arrest at his coach Calvin Ford’s residence. 

However, the undefeated boxer decided to move to a luxury hotel and then to a new home, citing a lack of space for him and his huge team. The judge, therefore, ordered him to spend the rest of his house arrest in a Baltimore holding facility, which was 44 days. More recently, because he is on probation, Davis reached out to X, expressing his frustration about not being allowed to see his family on Christmas.
