Transitioning from one champion Taft team to another, the spotlight now shifts to theDe La Salle Lady Spikers as they prepare for their upcoming title defense in UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball.

Roughly a month before the collegiate volleyball season starts, La Salle’s preseason camp in Thailand was off to an auspicious start after pinning down three-time Thailand League champion Supreme VC in their tuneup match on Wednesday evening.

The Lady Spikers won four sets out of five with a final score of 25-23, 25-15, 25-22, 20-25, 15-10.
Supreme VC is home to some of the esteemed stars of Thailand’s women’s national team led by multi-awarded veteran captain Pleumjit Thinkaow.

Among other decorated aces to have played for the club are Chatchu-on Moksri, Nootsara Tomkom, Ajcharaporn Kongyot, Piyanut Pannoy, and former Creamline Cool Smashers import Yeliz Basa.
New chapter for Lady Spikers
Sans ex-captain Mars Alba — Season 85’s best setter and Finals MVP — best outside hitter Jolina dela Cruz, and now-Akari Chargers Fifi Sharma and Justine Jazareno, the Taft towers will be manned by a formidable core which includes rookie MVP Angel Canino, two-time best middle blocker Thea Gagate, and Shakey’s Super League MVP Shevana Laput.
Canino & Co. were all seen in clips and photos from La Salle’s winning start to their preseason camp in Thailand.
