The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a fast start at 11-2, including a come-from-behind win in Gainesville this past Saturday.

With the success, the ‘Swaggy’ John Calipari has returned as well.

During his weekly radio show on Monday night, Calipari mentioned that he recently joined a podcast alongside Mike Krzyzewski, and the UK head coach had a playful jab for the college basketball legend.

“He said something about playing young players. I said, “Yeah, I’ve always done it. You copied us, and then you started playing young players,” Coach Cal said.

Ever since his days at Memphis, Calipari has not only been known for his success on the recruiting trail but also paved the way for the one-and-done players in college basketball.

From players like Derrick Rose, John Wall, Anthony Davis, and plenty more names on the list, it’s obvious that Cal has mastered that formula, which was followed by Duke, who had similar success with names like Paolo Banchero, Zion Williamson, Jayson Tatum, and Brandon Ingram, among others.

Now, it is shaping up like Cal has done it once again with this season’s roster.

Always good to see some shade thrown at Duke. Even better when it comes from the head coach.

Go Cats!
