‘The year 2023 was more than exceptional; we want to start from here’ – Paolo

The 2023 season was truly historic for Prima Pramac. It became the first satellite team to win the MotoGP team championship, with its rider Jorge Martín fighting for the individual championship until the last race against a rider from the factory Ducati team, Francesco Bagnaia.

Paolo Campinoti, the owner of Pramac, admitted to the La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper that it was a special season, and now they want to start from where they left off… although he knows the task will be more challenging:

For us, it was a more than exceptional year, winning the World Championship, as no satellite team had done in the past. That alone was an incredible feat. Then, taking the fight for the [riders’] World Championship to the last race was impressive. We want to start again from here, even if next season will be even more difficult, as everyone will be better equipped: there’s [Marc] Márquez on a Ducati, I’m sure Honda will do better, Aprilia is on the rise… it won’t be easy to repeat.

In order to be back in the fight for top positions, the work has to be faultless, as Campinoti emphasized: ‘I see everyone getting stronger. And, in my opinion, for this year’s World Championship, there will also be [Enea] Bastianini, who had a very problematic 2023 season but is a great rider and if he doesn’t have more bad luck, he’ll always be there. We’ll have to be able to raise our level of focus and professionalism even more’.
