IDOT says major highways currently in good condition, secondary roads icy and

Secondary and rural roads are very slick this morning as a result of light freezing rain.

Marion County Highway Engineer Mike McCormick says county roads are extremely slick.  Crews are out treating roads, but it is a slow and dangerous process.   McCormick adds treatments do not guarantee safe conditions.   He recommends you do not travel if not necessary.

Salem and Centralia City Crews are out.   Salem crews have been concentrating on intersections.

Sidewalks and parking lots are especially icy.

Illinois Department of Transportation reporting major highways and interstates at this hour in fairly normal winter driving conditions in Marion, Jefferson, Washington, and Clinton County with some ice-covered areas in Fayette County and in the Metro East.
