NASCAR docuseries hits Netflix Top 10

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — People are racing to watch the NASCAR docuseries on Netflix that debuted in late January.
Netflix revealed that NASCAR: Top Speed was No. 9 on its list of most-viewed series in the United States last week. The series debuted on Jan. 30 on Netflix and follows the drivers involved in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
The United States isn’t the only country interested in getting an inside look at NASCAR. The docuseries is No. 6 in Canada, No. 9 in Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Switzerland, and No. 10 in Belgium, according to Netflix.
NASCAR: Full Speed provides an in-depth look at the sport, both on and off the track. Many of the drivers’ personal lives are profiled with a close-up look at their homes in the Charlotte area.
The docuseries is seen by some as NASCAR’s answer to Formula 1’s Drive to Survive, which is partially credited with growing that league’s popularity in the United States in recent years. NASCAR is hopeful the series can have that same effect.
Ryan Blaney won the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series championship driving the No. 12 Ford for Penske Racing. The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series unofficially began with the LA Clash at the Coliseum on Sunday, with Denny Hamlin taking the win. The first points-paying race of the year is the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18.
