A former world champion looks to make his mark at super lightweight when Joseph Diaz faces Jerry Perez at the Commerce Casino in California on February 15. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will air live on DAZN.

Diaz (33-4-1) is a former IBF super featherweight champion. He has competed in various divisions over the years and picked up the interim WBC lightweight title at the expense of Javier Fortuna. However, a decision loss to full champion Devin Haney was the first of three consecutive defeats for the 31-year-old and his career was in jeopardy. In July, “JoJo” bounced back with a decision win over Jerry Perez at super lightweight.

Perez (24-5) turned pro in 2016. “Ricky” is 2-3 in his last five fights and 4-5 in his previous nine. He is on a two-fight losing streak, his last contest being a decision loss to Brian Norman Jr. in May.
