Paris 2024 Paralympics broadcast rights revenue up 20% on Tokyo 2020


A record number of broadcasters are set to cover the Paris 2024 Paralympics Games, with revenue from media rights sales also seeing a significant uptick on Tokyo 2020.

Confirmed:

  • Media rights holders in more than 160 countries and territories have committed to broadcasting 2024 Paralympics
  • Overall revenue raised from media rights sales has increased by more than 20 per cent compared to Tokyo 2020
  • The Infront agency has finalised coverage in a record 40 European countries

Context:

With six months to go until the 2024 Paralympics, the event looks on course to break the viewership for Tokyo 2020, which was shown in 154 countries and territories to a cumulative 4.1 billion viewers.

This will also be the first Paralympic Games to offer some live coverage from each of the 22 sports. At Tokyo 2020, 19 sports were broadcast, while 15 sports were shown live at Rio 2016.
