‘The strongest riders are or were Valentino Rossi, Marc Márquez, and Giacomo

Tony Arbolino continues to compete in the Moto2 World Championship, preparing to face a season in which he will be one of the title contenders. The year 2023, as well as the one ahead, alongside the greatest in history, were discussed by the Elf Marc VDS rider.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian began by reviewing the past year when he was the runner-up: ‘In the first part of the season, I was always up front and felt good with the tires and the bike. In the second phase of the season, I didn’t want to settle for being second and started making changes, following a wrong path. In some races, I lost a lot of confidence with the bike’.

Regarding expectations for the upcoming season, Arbolino stated that the goal is to fight for the title: ‘This year will be a very intense battle, and I want to prepare well. The new Pirelli tires will have a big impact on the riding style. I felt good in the tests in Valencia; it seems that we can make a little more difference. Time will tell, but I am determined to fight for the championship until the end’.

About the training he undergoes, #14 revealed: ‘Currently, physical training has become very important and rigorous. In Spain, riders prepare themselves from a very young age and in a decisive way, thus creating a bit of difference. Championships in Spain are more formative than in Italy’.

Outside the scope of his career, Arbolino spoke about the eternal question – who are the best riders in history? ‘I believe that the strongest riders are or were Valentino Rossi, Marc Márquez, and Giacomo Agostini’, he pointed out.
