Hello and welcome to football.london’s live blog for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

Arsenal will be looking to continue their fine goalscoring form for the visit of the Bees who very nearly stole a couple of points off the Gunners earlier in the season before Kai Havertz scored late on to snatch victory. With the UEFA Champions League match just days later, an opportunity to rest key stars by building up another unassailable lead would be ideal.

31 goals have been scored in the last seven league wins and with Brentford suffering a defensive crisis with Ben Mee, Ethan Pinnock, Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey all injured. Ivan Toney was even spotted limping off against Chelsea although any update on the England international is yet to be given.

Arteta is expected to provide an update on Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka who came off against Sheffield United last weekend. Meanwhile, further information is expected on the upcoming returns of Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Kaya Kaynak and Tom Canton will be bringing all the build-up and updates from the Sobha Realty Training Centre shortly. More to follow.

Arteta on Havertz

His ability to occupy spaces, the aggression that he has, he has the physicality to play in multiple positions as well.

Arteta on if he’s told Ramsdale that he might play against Porto if Brentford goes well

We don’t have that kind of conversation with players where we say ‘play today and you have the opportunity to play next week’. That kind of stuff doesn’t happen.

Arteta on if Ramsdale can adapt

Not only that he can adapt but he has proven that he can adapt really well to what I want and what we want

Arteta on if he can rule out Toney transfer

I don’t talk about any other player if not I’ll have to rule out every other player in the market.

Arteta on if there’s an update on White and Tomiyasu contracts

Not really. I leave that more to Edu and the…
