Christian Horner has sent a ‘grateful’ Mother’s Day message to wife Geri Halliwell after the Red Bull boss faced more pressure over his position.

The 50-year-old insists there are no cultural issues at Red Bull after Max Verstappen won again at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Saturday.

Red Bull have since suspended the female accuser, while Horner has continued in his role as team principal.

Former Spice Girl Halliwell put on a united front with Horner at the Bahrain Grand Prix and was again in Saudi Arabia for Saturday’s race.

The pair married in 2015 and have one child together, seven-year-old Monty.

Horner uploaded a post onto his Instagram page on Sunday morning to celebrate Mother’s Day.

The post included three pictures, including two of Halliwell with Monty, and one of a young Horner with his mother.

He captioned the post: “Happy Mother’s Day – So appreciative of the mums in our family for everything they do. We’re always grateful, today and every day.”

Horner called for the ‘intrusion’ into his family to stop at a press conference last Thursday.

However, Jos Verstappen, father of three-time world champion Max, reignited the feud by insisting it was ‘too late’ for a line to be drawn under the saga.

Horner was keen to focus attention on the achievements of Red Bull rather than the speculation surrounding the team.

He said: “The speculation is obviously rife but the most important thing is the team and focusing on on-track performances.

“We all have a vested interest in achieving performances like we have. It’s been a phenomenal team effort.

“What you don’t see is it’s all the men and women behind the scenes, all the people in the supply chains, all the people in the support functions and all the people that work ridiculously long hours in one of the biggest team sports, if not the biggest team sport in the world.

“I think it’s important to recognise that there are nine other teams doing what we are doing and it’s not that easy.

“You only do that by having a spirit, a determination throughout the entire company and the drivers are driving the end product and they have done a wonderful job. We move on and our focus is on Melbourne.”

Verstappen senior had previously claimed Red Bull would ‘explode’ if Horner stayed.

However, Horner insists there are no problems in the team and says early-season results prove that.

Asked if there are no ‘cultural issues’ at Red Bull, Horner said: “Absolutely. Red Bull Racing is the most followed sporting entity of any sports team in the world.

“We’ve got an incredible team who are doing an amazing job. Without that, we wouldn’t achieve these…
