Tire brand Michelin has been confirmed as the title sponsor of motorcycling’s MotoGP French Grand Prix.

The event, held at the Le Mans circuit, in Michelin’s home country, takes place from May 10 to 12 and will be officially named the Michelin Grand Prix de France.

The title sponsorship deal builds on Michelin’s existing relationship with the top motorcycling series as it already serves as the official tire supplier of the MotoGP World Championship.

It has held the role since 2016 and its current agreement runs until 2026. By the end of that contract, Michelin and MotoGP will clock up a decade of partnership together.

As part of a wide-ranging relationship, Michelin is also the official tire supplier to the FIM MotoE World Cup, the electric motorbike support series for MotoGP.

Dan Rossomondo, chief commercial officer of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports, said: “Michelin is vital to MotoGP. It’s great news to welcome them as title sponsor for one of our best-attended events, which is also its home turf.
