March Madness live updates and scores: Women tip off; men’s first round

March Madness intensifies Friday, with the first round of the NCAA women’s tournament tipping off and the first round of the men’s tournament concluding. There will be 32 games in all, with the first contest tipping off around 11:30 a.m. Eastern and the last games sure to end after midnight. The defending men’s and women’s champions will both be in action: The Connecticut men play Stetson at approximately 2:45, and the LSU women play Rice at approximately 4.
