Emmerdale SPOILER: Cain Dingle’s reason why brother Caleb has been kept a secret

Viewers are about the discover the reason why Cain Dingle has kept his brother Caleb a secret all this time in a special flashback episode of Emmerdale. 

On Boxing Day, the soap will transport back to 1991 when the siblings meet for the first time. 

The bombshell episode will reveal exactly why the brothers are estranged after Cain makes his feelings clear he has no plans of a reconciliation when his sibling returns on Christmas Day.

Viewers will go back to more than thirty years ago to uncover the truth about the brother’s troubled relationship. 

Aiden Kane and Riccardo Drayton, take on the roles of young Cain and Caleb and met with Emmerdale actors Jeff Hordley (Cain) and Will Ash (Caleb) at a rehearsal earlier this year. 

Cain is stuck in jail after taking the blame for the murder of Al to protect his son Kyle and has received some unwanted letters from his sibling.

On Christmas Day, Caleb visits Cain in prison – but their reunion doesn’t go down to well. 

Caleb is shocked to hear their mother Faith has only died recently, after being told she died thirty years ago. 

As anger boils up between the two siblings, Cain needs to do everything he can to protect his son’s Kyle secret.

Meanwhile, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is set for an even bigger shock as Cain has kept his existence a secret from her since they were teenagers – with the revelation no doubt set to stir up even more drama between the warring siblings. 

Speaking about his new role, Will, 45 – who is famed for his role as Chris Mead in Waterloo Road – said: ‘I’m thrilled to be joining such an iconic show.

‘Emmerdale is packed full of fantastic actors and I’m really looking forward to working alongside them. Caleb is a fantastically complex character and I can’t wait to get stuck in.’
