Duke to play Oral Roberts in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament

The Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team is set to play against Oral Roberts on Thursday in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The teams will play in Orlando.

Duke (26-8, 14-6 ACC) is a No. 5 seed and Oral Roberts is a No. 12 seed.

The Blue Devils have won nine consecutive games after beating Virginia, 59-49, to win a league-record 22nd ACC Tournament championship game on Saturday night.

First-year head coach Jon Scheyer’s team fell out of the AP Top 25 in mid-January. At the start of the week, the Blue Devils returned to the rankings at No. 21.

Scheyer is the first man to win an ACC Tournament title as both a player and a coach in league history, and only the third first-year men’s coach ever to claim the title.

Duke has not lost since dropping back-to-back games against Miami (Feb. 6) and Virginia (Feb. 11), nearly a month ago.

NC State to play Creighton in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament

The N.C. State Wolfpack men’s basketball team is scheduled to play Xavier on in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The No. 11 seed N.C. State Wolfpack play No. 6 seed Creighton on Friday in Denver.

The Wolfpack fell 80-54 to Clemson in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.

On Wednesday night in the second round of the ACC Tournament, N.C. State played perhaps its best game of the season in the 97-77 win over Virginia Tech.
