Former Toledo quarterback Dequan Finn announced on Sunday that he intends to transfer to Baylor for his final season of college eligibility.

Finn has spent the last five seasons with Toledo. He was named MAC Player of the Year in November and led Toledo to an 11-2 record. He’s led the Rockets to the MAC Championship Game in each of the last two seasons, winning the conference in 2022.

Finn is a three-year starter for Toledo, and in the 2023 season he’s passed for 2,657 yards on 63.4% passing with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He’s thrown for over 7,000 yards across his college career.

With 2023 Bears quarterback Blake Shapen hitting the transfer portal and committing to Mississippi State, it’s likely that Finn competes with returning quarterback Sawyer Robertson for the Bears’ starting job in 2024. Finn was ranked as the eighth-best quarterback to enter the transfer portal by 247Sports, and the 36th-ranked overall transfer.
