Although she hasn’t been drafted yet, the hype surrounding Caitlin Clark has already translated to the WNBA.

After an incredible collegiate career at Iowa that led to her becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer and breaking several other records, Clark is widely projected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

The Indiana Fever, owners of the No. 1 pick, revealed that the team is experiencing a “spike” in ticket interest prior to the draft (via ESPN’s Stephen Holder). Although the Fever ranked No. 11 of the 12 WNBA teams in attendance during the 2023 season, that likely won’t be the case in 2024 with Clark presumably in the mix.

Indiana has been dropping subtle hints about its interest in Clark. When the guard announced her intention to declare for the draft on Feb. 29, the Fever posted a link to 2024 season tickets less than an hour later.

Although Clark and the Hawkeyes ultimately fell to South Carolina in the NCAA tournament title game, an estimated 18.9 million viewers tuned in to watch the contest. That represented the most-watched basketball game at any level since 2019.

Despite coming off a disappointing 13-27 season, the Fever will have 36 of their 40 regular-season games on national broadcasts (via Ben Pickman of The Athletic). Many will likely be following Clark’s WNBA journey closely, with even more showing up to games after buying tickets to watch her in person.

The WNBA draft is scheduled to begin on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
