Remy Gardner is a unknown to Toprak Razgatlioglu: ‘MotoGP is different from SBK’

GYTR GRT Yamaha has bet on Remy Gardner for the Superbike World Championship next year, with the rider making his debut. He arrives after a year of little success in the MotoGP World Championship, making a transition that is not unprecedented.

In recent years, riders like Alvaro Bautista and Iker Lecuona have made the same change and with success: this year, Bautista was champion and Lecuona was the best rookie as well as the strongest Honda.

Another recent success story is Scott Redding, although the transition was not straightforward – first there was a spell in the British Superbike Championship (BSB).

Toprak Razgatlioglu was asked by the GPOne.com website about his expectations about Gardner, to which he replied: ‘As for Gardner, I don’t know what to expect, since MotoGP is different from SBK and we will see that in the tests’.
