Huskers Sweep McKendree to Open Beach Season – University of Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska beach volleyball team started its season with a 5-0 sweep of McKendree at the Hawks Championship Center on Thursday.

The match began with NU’s No. 3 pair, Laney Choboy and Harper Murray, posting a 21-14, 21-14 win. Nebraska’s No. 4 pair of Merritt Beason and Skyler Pierce followed that up with a 21-11, 21-9 victory. Ally Batenhorst and Bergen Reilly, the Huskers’ top pair, clinched the match with a 21-16, 15-21, 15-7 win over McKendree’s No. 1 team.

Lindsay Krause and Lexi Rodriguez played as the Huskers’ No. 2 pair and put up a 21-12, 21-12 win, and Andi Jackson and Olivia Mauch finished off the sweep with a 21-8, 21-11 win. 

NU’s exhibition pairing, Maisie Boesiger and Kyla Kenney, capped off the night with a 19-21, 21-9, 15-6 victory. 

Nebraska is back at home on Friday for a pair of matches – against McKendree at 8 a.m. and Park at 4 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on the Huskers’ YouTube page.
